Fp. nigerianus Jos Plateau – Uncredited Flicker Photo

Fundulopanchax nigerianus is one of several species once combined under the generic Fp. gardneri species.

Most populations are reasonably easy to reproduce using a basic mop that stretches from the surface to the bottom of a tank.  Eggs take 2-3 weeks to hatch in water.  Some breeders prefer to place the eggs on moist peat moss. This method takes 4-6 weeks for development.  Fry can take BBS immediately and grow rapidly.
