Type Locality: Liberia. Salayea
The distribution of this species is the upper Lofa and upper Saint Paul River systems of northwestern Liberia and southeastern Guinea. They mostly inhabit small streams, brooks and swamps.
This is considered a easy species to reproduce in the home aquaria. Epiplatys roloffi reproduces top mops. Eggs are removed and placed in small containers in water from the parents tank. Incubation needs 14 days. Infusoria is the recommended first food, but they will accept newly hatched brine shrimp.
