Epiplatys olbrechtsi kassiapleuensis

Type Locality:     Ivory Coast – Located in a brook 2 kms west of Kassiapleu in the Man highlands.   In general, it can be found in the middle and upper Sassandra River frainage of western Ivory Coast.  

Epiplatys olbrechtsi daurensis inhabits small rivers, streams, swampy areas and creeks in rainforest areas.

This is considered a easy species to reproduce in the home aquaria.  Epiplatys olbrechtsi kassiapluensis reproduces in floating mops.  Eggs are removed and placed in small containers in water from the parents tank. Incubation need 8-14 days.  Infusoria is the recommended first food.
