Type Locality:     Juntion between the small Masei River with the Bon de Boan River.  It is found on both sides of the Liberia and Ivory Coast and goes into the southwest corner of Guinea.   

Epiplatys olbrechtsi daurensis inhabits small rivers, streams and creeks.

This is considered a easy species to reproduce in the home aquaria.  Epiplatys olbrechtsi daurensis reproduces in floating mops.  Eggs are removed and placed in small containers in water from the parents tank. Incubation need 8-14 days.  Infusoria is the recommended first food.
