-APHYOSEMION-

ICONISEMION Huber, 2013
TYPE: Aphyosemion striatum

We rarely see the sub-genus designation on this fairly large group of Aphyosemion.  Most aquarists simply stick to Aphyosemion for the various species maintained in the hobby.  Probably one of the most common and an excellent starter is Aphyosemion striatum.

These species are plant-spawners and mops are a very good choice for breeding most.  A 2-3 week incubation period is all that is needed to water-incubate the eggs to hatching.
