Fp. sjoestedti – Blue Gularis
TYPE LOCATION: Western Cameroon near in Ndian River
The emblem fish of the American Killifish Assc., Fp. sjoestedti inhabits swamps, temporary pools and swamp areas of slow flowing streams around the Ndian River in the rainforest of coastal western Cameroon from Malende to Kribi,
Large aquariums are highly recommended for this large killifish. This species will lay eggs in both bottom mops as well as in peat moss containers. Most breeders use a dry storage method and the eggs should incubate in 6-8 weeks. Thos who use water incubation find 3-6 weeks the norm. Both methods are successful.
Fry are large enough to ingest baby brine shrimp. They grow rapidly. Larger fry will predate on thier smaller siblings.
